The Novice Driver Package is custom designed for new drivers who have successfully passed the ICBC’s Knowledge Test and have little or no prior driving experience. The package includes 14 practical lessons of 1.5 hours and the Road Test Package. Learners who successfully complete this package will be able to
• demonstrate control, safety and responsibility in basic driving
• understand meaning of traffic control devices
• demonstrate competence in conducting pre-trip checks
• maintain safe time and space margins to complete driving maneuvers
• demonstrate safe, legal and confident vehicle control while changing direction
• demonstrate safe, legal and responsible execution of right-of-way maneuvers
• demonstrate safe, responsible and proper parking techniques
• integrate knowledge and skills of safe driving
• use observation skills to minimize risk
