Enrollment Criteria

Student driver must be at least 16 years of age and has a valid driving permit issued by ICBC or a valid international driving permit in order to book a driving lesson with us.

Student driver should contact Royal City Driving Academy to reserve an instructor prior to purchasing online individual lessons or driving packages.

Conduct

Student driver must carry a valid driving permit to every driving lesson. In instances where a student driver does not have a driving permit, the instructor is obligated to reschedule the lesson as it is against the law to drive without a valid permit.

While we understand the merits of technology and may use it in a safe way in our lessons, the student driver must not use any devices that could destruct their own driving or disrupt driving lessons.

Royal City Driving Academy reserves the right to refuse to land the Academy’s car for the road test, if the school or instructor has safety concerns for the student driver and/or other road users.

Student driver is responsible for any traffic violations obtained due to his/her negligent driving. Should a student driver engage in a traffic accident, a deductible fee will apply towards the costs of the accident.

Appropriate and comfortable attire should be worn during driver training. Flip flops are not appropriate for driving.

Cancellations

If a student driver cannot keep his/her/their scheduled lesson, he/she/they must notify the Academy at 778-322-8894 at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled date. Should a student driver fail to notify the Academy of the cancellation or does not show up for the scheduled class, a $95 cancellation fee will be applied, as this time was reserved with an instructor.

If a student driver purchases a driving package and wishes to cancel his/her/their driving lessons, the Academy will provide a full refund for the lessons that have not taken place at the time of cancellation and for which the cancellation is made 48 hours in advance.

A student driver or a driving instructor may cancel or reschedule their lesson due to unforeseen circumstances such as illness, personal emergency, weather conditions or mechanical issues of the vehicle. The Academy will do everything possible to accommodate the student driver’s schedule when rescheduling the cancelled class(es).
